Serge Vincent
All his figurines are made of clay, fine earthenware and porcelain. It can take up to fifteen types of clay to make a single piece. The piece is sculpted, dried then baked at an average temperature of 1100°. This enables the piece to harden.
Once cool, the figurines are then painted using oil and traditional techniques similar to 18th century still-life methods. A protective glaze is applied after drying the colour for a month. Some subjects take months of work.
You can book a workshop tour or find him at certain santon fairs and exhibitions in the region.
