Place des Trois Ormeaux

Originally located outside the city walls, this square is now in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, not far from the Palais Monclar.
Originally home to a horticultural market, this space became Place Bertrand Bérici, in honor of the Aix consul who practiced in the early 15th century.
In the 17th century, it was renamed Place des Trois Ormeaux, in reference to the three trees that now adorn the site.

A well was installed at its center. It was replaced in 1632 by a charming fountain in Calissanne and Bibemus stone, featuring a polygonal basin and a cylindrical pedestal with floral decoration.
