Le Château d'Arnajon
Bastide built in the 17th century, 17th-century terraces, vegetable garden, 19th-century gardens and cactus gardens. An estate that has retained its authenticity. Same owners for almost two centuries.
Built in the 17th century, this magnificent country house, reflected in the water of its immense Provençal pond, is a treasure of architectural heritage. The entire site (except for the former farmhouse) was listed as a Historical Monument by prefectural order on 2 December 2010.
Now privately owned by the Pascal family, it was originally a hunting lodge. A chapel has been built on the western wall of the house, which boasts beautiful French-style gardens and a courtyard with a fountain.
The cold room, a remarkable grotto in Italian-inspired Baroque style, nestles at the foot of one of the dovecotes in this outstanding property.
The Queen Mother of England visited the Château in the early 1960s.
