Ambiance de Noel dans les rues d'Aix-en-Provence

Hôtel Maynier d'Oppède

Linked to the life of the Aix aristocracy, the Hôtel Maynier d'Oppède, located near the Cathedral of Saint-Sauveur, opposite the Archbishop's theater, takes its name from a very ancient family of magistrates.
The Hôtel Maynier d'Oppède, opposite the Archbishop's Palace, is named after a very old family of magistrates.

Bought in 1730 from the Forbin d’Oppède family, its frontage was rebuilt in 1757 by the architect Georges Vallon and the sculptor Chastel for the President of the Parliament, Etienne de Thomassin de Saint Paul.

It now houses the Institute of French Studies for Foreign Students.

During the Festival of Lyric Art, concerts and recitals are held in its shady courtyard.
