Vasarely Foundation
The Vasarely Foundation is a Museum of France since December 10, 2020
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of op art inside a lumino-kinetic building, designed and financed by Victor Vasarely.
On the ground floor are 16 modules with a hexagonal base, linked together like a gigantic construction game, including 42 monumental architectural units and 2 sculptures. The works are made of anodized metal, tapestry, ceramics, enamel and silkscreen-printed glass. They result from a fruitful collaboration between the artist, the architects and companies with the aim of creating a multi-coloured city of happiness.
On the first floor, an area called "Vasarely Plasticien" ("Vasarely Plastic Artist") includes a visit and cultural mediation elements, giving visitors the chance to explore the artist's world, from his beginnings as a graphic designer to his work on monumental units, with almost 200 original works and documents.
Temporary exhibitions, workshops, concerts, conferences, plus cultural mediation activities with workshops for children, families and adults are regular features of the Foundation program all through the year.
The cultural mediation service can also organize birthday parties for your children and introduce them to the site during a visit and a creative workshop.
Facilities for disabled people: all the rooms are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
▶ Booklets in 24 other languages available for consultation
▶ Booklets in Braille for blind or visually impaired visitors
