Ensemble Café Zimmermann

Led by violinist Pablo Valetti and harpsichordist Céline Frisch, the ensemble brings together soloists committed to reviving the artistic emulation of Gottfried Zimmermann's establishment in 18th-century Leipzig.
Founded in 1999 and in residence at the Grand Théâtre de Provence since 2011, Café Zimmermann is at the forefront of the Baroque concert scene in France and Europe. It collaborates with artists such as Sophie Karthäuser, Emöke Barath, Giuliano Carmignola, Rupert Charlesworth, Lorenzo Coppola, Damien Guillon and choirs like Vox Luminis and Accentus.

He performs regularly on international tours: Europe, Japan, USA, China, South America... His recordings - especially those of J.S. Bach - have been hailed by specialist critics and rewarded with several Diapasons d'Or and Chocs de Classica awards.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Alpha Classics has released a boxed set featuring the ensemble's entire discography. Lamento, its new recording with countertenor Damien Guillon, was released in September 2020.
