CIAM - Centre International des Arts en Mouvement
Today, the Centre International des Arts en Mouvement boasts 45,986 beneficiaries each year, and sees a wide range of profiles pass through its doors: delinquents from the Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse (Youth Judicial Protection) come to circus practice workshops with their supervisors, meet artists, autistic children are welcomed for a multi-year discovery program, while job-seekers and company directors meet under the big top for a recruitment workshop based on interpersonal skills, all alongside the 325 weekly students from the circus arts amateur practice school and the 1,500 children and teenagers taking part in the various artistic and cultural teaching projects every year.
Major events take place throughout the year, such as circus workshops for children during the school vacations and weekend workshops for adults. The Nuits [en mouvement], Patrimoine en mouvement and the Festival Jours [et nuits] de cirque(s) also sprinkle the Aix area with shows in several communes, featuring artistic performances that highlight the region's heritage and history.
Last but not least, the CIAM also organizes convivial discovery days and evenings around the circus arts: Family Day in spring, Summer Day in summer and, during the summer season, afterworks with DJ sets “les Vendredis du CIAM”.
